Frequently asked questions

Which programs does it work in?
In any Windows text field: Word, Outlook, Gmail in the browser, WhatsApp Web, Excel, business software. Loquil pastes the text where your cursor is — it's not a separate app you have to write in.
Can I use it on text I have already written?
Yes. Select it and the Loquil bar offers Rewrite: the text is replaced right where it was, without dictating anything. If you have set Write in, it comes out in the language you chose. Available on Windows and Android; not on Linux.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes: transcription and text cleanup happen in the cloud. A normal connection is enough; the audio is processed in a few seconds.
Can I change the hotkey?
Yes, from the settings: Shift+Win is the default, but you can pick a different one (Ctrl+Alt+D, F8, F9…).
What happens when I run out of Free words?
The Free plan includes 1,000 words a week and the counter resets every week. If you need more, Smart (6 €/month) raises the limit to 50,000 words a month.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, at any time from your account: the plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, with no strings attached.
Which platforms is it available on?
Windows 10/11, Linux and Android (dictation bubble in any app). iOS is in development and Mac is under consideration: write to [email protected] if you're interested. One account and one word quota for all your devices.
